Banda Aceh (ANTARA) — The Aceh Regional Police (Polda Aceh) are accelerating construction of a bailey bridge to open transport access for 7,000 residents affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Lhok Cut Village, Sawang District, North Aceh Regency.

Head of Public Relations at Polda Aceh, Commissioner Joko Krisdiyanto, said in Banda Aceh on Sunday that the bailey bridge under construction would serve as the community’s access route towards urban areas and the centre of government.

“Construction of this bailey bridge, provided with assistance from the National Police Chief, is being expedited to meet the transport access needs of the Lhok Cut Village community, estimated to number around 7,000 people,” he said.

According to Joko Krisdiyanto, the National Police’s involvement in the bailey bridge construction represents a form of concern and a solution for communities affected by the hydrometeorological disaster in late November 2025.

“The bailey bridge is needed by the community to support daily activities, both for educational purposes and for distributing and selling agricultural produce to urban areas,” he said.

The mid-ranking Polda Aceh officer expressed hope that the bailey bridge construction would be completed promptly, allowing community activities to return to normal following the disaster.

“The presence of the bailey bridge is expected to facilitate the mobility of residents whilst simultaneously supporting the economic recovery of the community following the hydrometeorological disaster that struck the area,” Joko Krisdiyanto said.
