Aceh meeting postponed: Govt

JAKARTA: The planned consultation meeting on the Aceh peace
deal between the government and the House of Representatives has
been rescheduled for Aug. 9, a senior minister said on Thursday.

House speaker Agung Laksono had said the meeting would take
place on Aug. 5.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security
Affairs Widodo Adi Sucipto did not elaborate on the reasons for
the delay.

"Who said the meeting would be held on Aug. 5? You did
perhaps," said Widodo after a meeting with President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono.

The House has demanded the government provide details of the
agreement reached between government negotiators and Aceh rebels
during the last peace talks in Helsinki last month. The peace
deal is set for signing in Helsinki on Aug. 15. -- Antara
