ACEH JAYA: Indonesian soldiers shot dead a German who was
traveling on a tourist visa in Aceh province and injured his
female German companion in Lhok Gayo village, Teunom district.

LHOKSEUMAWE: The trial of three soldiers continued with
prosecutors demanding the defendants serve eight months in
prison.

A total blackout hit North Aceh, East Aceh, Central Aceh and
Pidie.

BIREUEN: Ten subdistrict chiefs in the Peudada district were
kidnapped by a group of men claiming to be GAM.

EAST ACEH: Three school buildings and a telecommunications tower
owned by PT Telkom were burned down.

PIDIE: GAM was blamed for the burning of a high school building
in Tringgadeng district and an agricultural office in Mutiara
district.

BANDA ACEH: The ministry of social affairs has opened 3,000
makeshift camps to feed 22,597 refugees.
