A Banda Aceh Police unit arrested NUR, a 34-year-old housewife (IRT) from Montasik, Aceh Besar, who is suspected of misappropriating a rental car and exchanging it for one ounce of methamphetamine. The arrest was confirmed by Iptu Erfan Gustiar, Head of Public Relations of Banda Aceh Police, and occurred in Gampong Lambhuk, Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh, on Tuesday afternoon, 3 March. The arrest followed a report from victim Ziyauzzaki, 34, of Lambaro Sukon, Darussalam, Aceh Besar. The incident began in early September 2025, when NUR rented a Toyota Avanza Velos with plate BL 1843 LO from the victim, claiming she would travel to Lhokseumawe for five days. After the rental period expired, NUR did not return the vehicle. The victim filed a report with Banda Aceh Police on 14 October 2025 under LPB/806/X/2025/SPKT/Polresta Banda Aceh. After several months of pursuit, police traced NUR to Lambhuk. Based on intensive questioning, investigators found that the car had been exchanged for narcotics—specifically methamphetamine weighing one ounce. “Based on the investigators’ findings, the car had been exchanged for methamphetamine weighing one ounce to IR (40), a resident of Aceh Utara,” Iptu Erfan Gustiar said, quoted by Antara on Thursday, 5 March. Currently the Opsnal Satreskrim team is developing the case to track down IR (the receiver) and locate the victim’s vehicle that had been misappropriated. NUR is now charged under Article 486 of the Criminal Code and is held in Banda Aceh Police detention for further investigation. The police urged vehicle rental business owners to be more vigilant and tighten rental procedures to prevent similar embezzlement schemes in the future.
