A housewife identified as NUR (34), a resident of Montasik, Aceh Besar, was arrested by officers of the Banda Aceh City Police Criminal Investigation Unit after allegedly embezzling a rental car to exchange it for methamphetamine.

The case began when NUR rented a Toyota Avanza Veloz belonging to a resident of Darussalam District, Aceh Besar, in September 2025. At the time, the suspect claimed she needed to travel to Lhokseumawe for five days.

However, by the agreed deadline, the car had not been returned.

The victim subsequently reported the incident to Banda Aceh City Police on 14 October 2025 under Police Report LPB/806/X/2025/SPKT/Polresta Banda Aceh.

After a search process, NUR was finally arrested on Tuesday 3 March in the Ulee Kareng area of Banda Aceh.

Public Relations Head Iptu Erfan Gustiar of Banda Aceh City Police said that based on the examination results, the rental car had been exchanged for one ounce of meth with a man identified as IR (40), a resident of North Aceh.

“Indeed. The results of the examination show that the suspect exchanged the rental car for meth,” Erfan told reporters on Wednesday 4 March.

Currently, police are continuing to develop the case to trace the victim’s car and investigate the possible involvement of other parties.

For her actions, NUR faces Article 486 of the Indonesian Penal Code and has been detained at the Banda Aceh City Police Detention House for further legal proceedings.
