Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for the Aceh embarkation has reported that the number of Acehnese pilgrims who have died due to illness in Saudi Arabia, both in Mecca and Medina, has increased to 12. “Two more Acehnese pilgrims have passed away, one in Mecca and one in Medina. The total number of deaths in the Holy Land as of today is 12,” said Aceh PPIH Chairman Arijal in Banda Aceh on Thursday. He stated that the two most recent Acehnese pilgrims died on Wednesday (17/6) due to health problems, namely Busra Bustamam Jamil from Group 9, originally from South Aceh Regency, who died in Mecca, and Dedeng Trisulo from Group 11, originally from Lhokseumawe City, who died in Medina. Arijal noted that the 10 previously deceased Acehnese pilgrims were Razali Mahmud Ben from Group 4, originally from Langsa City; Muhammad Yusuf bin Nafi from Group 8, originally from Bireuen Regency; and Nurdin Ali (69) from Group 10, originally from Pidie Regency. Also among the deceased were Mahdi Muhammad Sufi (60) from Group 2, originally from Aceh Besar Regency; Ibrahim Bin Abdul Kadir Nuh (74) from Group 10, originally from Pidie Regency; Sulasry Abdul Gani (76) from Group 5, originally from Bireuen Regency; and Aminah Ahmad (76) from Group 13, originally from Pidie Jaya Regency. Arijal explained that the Acehnese pilgrims who died in Mecca were buried in two different locations, namely the Syariah cemetery and the Saraya Suhada Al Haram cemetery, while those who died in Medina were interred in the Baqi cemetery. He also mentioned that there are currently 10 Acehnese pilgrims still undergoing treatment in Saudi Arabian hospitals, both in the Mecca and Medina regions. On this occasion, he also expressed his condolences for the passing of the Acehnese pilgrims. “May all their sins be forgiven and may they be placed in the paradise of Allah SWT, and may they attain Hajj Mabrur. To the families, may they be granted strength and sincerity over the passing of the deceased,” he said.
