Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Aceh provincial government has distributed 50,000 Qurans donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to disaster-affected areas, particularly for mosques, prayer rooms, Islamic boarding schools (dayah), religious study centres, educational institutions, and the general public.

“These 50,000 Qurans are not merely assistance in the form of religious texts, but also represent a trust and a symbol of care to strengthen the hearts of the Acehnese people as they face the recovery period,” said Fadhlullah in Aceh Tamiang on Thursday.

The statement was made by Fadhlullah during the symbolic handover of the Qurans in Aceh Tamiang Regency. Distribution to other affected areas was also carried out on the same day through the Islamic Sharia Service offices of each respective regency and municipality.

Fadhlullah expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its attention and concern towards the people of Aceh.

“Recovery is not only about physical development, but must also touch the inner and spiritual aspects of Acehnese society,” he said.

Fadhlullah expressed hope that the donated Qurans would be put to the best possible use, particularly by those who lost religious facilities or whose facilities were damaged due to the disaster.

On this occasion, he also reminded the public that the distributed Qurans should not merely be stored away, but should be read, studied, taught, and practised in daily life.

Addressing communities still undergoing the recovery process, he called on all parties to continue exercising patience, strengthen fraternal bonds, and work together to rebuild community life.
