The Head of the Aceh Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force (PRR) Regional Post, Safrizal ZA, distributed aid to flood victims in Bireuen Regency on Monday 16 March. The assistance comprised various essential supplies and religious equipment, including 250 Qurans, 500 prayer mats, 250 sarongs, 250 women’s prayer garments (mukena), 5,000 trousers, 300 jackets, 1,000 shirts, 1,000 additional sarongs, 1,000 clothing items, and 500 headscarves.

Additionally, the PRR Task Force distributed 600 kitchen equipment packages to assist flood-affected communities.

The aid handover took place symbolically at the Bireuen Pendopo (government hall) and was witnessed by Bireuen Regent Mukhlis, Deputy Regent Razuardi Ibrahim, Acting Regional Secretary Hanafiah, and several heads of related departments.

On this occasion, Safrizal emphasised that post-disaster response processes are being accelerated, stressing the importance of accurate victim data. “Disaster victim data by name and address must be accurate so that aid distribution does not miss its targets,” he stated.

He also reminded that victim data should be completed with housing preferences, whether communal permanent housing or on-site permanent housing, to expedite the rehabilitation process. Safrizal stated that, provided there are no obstacles, construction of permanent housing for flood victims would begin after Ramadan.

“God willing, if there are no obstacles, after Ramadan the construction of permanent housing will commence immediately,” he said.
