ACEH BESAR: First Brigadier Dicky Alfian was shot by members of
GAM on Tuesday. He was taken to the Zainoel Abidin general
hospital in Banda Aceh.

BIREUEN: Seven soldiers were shot dead and seven others were
injured in a gunfight with GAM at Matang Kumbang village between
Monday and Tuesday. Five GAM rebels, one of them a Inoeng Balee
(female fighter), were also killed.

BANDA ACEH: The Aceh martial law administration has distributed
one million ID cards for free to Acehnese people.

The Aceh Police submitted 11 dossiers on persons suspected of
being involved with GAM to the provincial prosecutors' office.

CENTRAL ACEH: A total of 435 families have returned to their
homes after each receiving a Rp 5 million donation from the
Ministry of Social Welfare and the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam
administration to rebuild their ruined homes.
