Jakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) Ace Hasan Syadzily has asked all members of the IKAL-Lemhannas Alumni Family Association to carry out the general chairman election process in a conducive manner and avoid generating internal conflicts. Ace made this statement during a press conference after opening the Extraordinary Deliberation of IKAL-Lemhannas at the Lemhannas Building in Central Jakarta on Saturday. “I believe the participants, having been moulded as statesmen, will certainly find the best solution amid differing choices, and that is us,” Ace said. According to him, whoever is eventually elected as General Chairman of IKAL-Lemhannas must be able to contribute to strengthening national resilience and support the government’s strategic programmes. He himself denied circulating rumours of dualism among several parties vying for the General Chairman position of IKAL-Lemhannas following Agum Gumelar’s leadership as General Chairman of IKAL-Lemhannas. “So far, there is no dualism, everyone is within one family of Lemhannas alumni who have cohesion,” Ace said. Therefore, Ace hopes that this cohesion will continue to be maintained until a definitive general chairman is elected. He also asked that the general chairman election process be based on the interests of the organisation, not just certain groups. “Insha Allah, as the Chairman of the Advisory Board, I must continue to ensure that the situation remains conducive in keeping IKAL-Lemhannas solid in guiding government policies and our alma mater,” Ace said. Since then, IKAL has been led by Acting General Chairman Mustafa Abubakar to this day. Several names have emerged in the race for the general chairman of IKAL. Among them are former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) Dudung Abdulrachman and Mustafa Abubakar.
