JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Roy Suryo, the suspect in the case of allegations regarding the fake diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, has denied receiving funds of Rp 5 billion from Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla. He also emphasised that he did not receive any money in any form while advocating for the proof of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. “Whatever the money, especially haram money, we reject it. Being anti-haram money means whether it’s Rp 5 billion or Rp 10 billion, that is haram money. Masya Allah, we reject it,” Roy said when met at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday (9/4/2026). “Astagfirullah if we are accused. That is completely untrue,” Roy added. At the same location, Roy Suryo’s legal counsel, Ahmad Khozinudin, also responded regarding JK’s report to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency concerning Rismon Sianipar. The report relates to Rismon’s statement accusing the Rp 5 billion funding. “We fully support what has been conveyed and done by Mr JK,” Khozinudin stated. He also agreed with JK’s statement requesting that the diploma controversy involving Jokowi be quickly resolved by showing the document. “If it’s genuine, let it be finished quickly. If it’s fake, then process it,” he said. “I emphasise, we did not receive a single rupiah of funds for this struggle, either from Mr JK or other parties,” he added.
