Accused of Owning 750 MBG Kitchens, Uya Kuya Files Police Report

Member of Parliament Surya Utama, or Uya Kuya, has lodged a police report (LP) with Metro Jaya Regional Police regarding allegations of disseminating false news by social media accounts. This action was taken after he was accused of owning 750 free nutritious meal kitchens (MBG). The report is documented under number: LP/B/2746/TV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA. Uya spotted the posts containing the accusations on several Threads accounts on Saturday (18/4). “Yes, it’s true. (Regarding) the dissemination of false news,” stated the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, when contacted by reporters on Sunday (19/4). The accounts posted an edited photo of Uya with a caption claiming he owns 750 MBG kitchens. Uya considers this false news presented as authentic information. Due to the incident, Uya felt harmed and visited the Criminal Investigation Unit of Metro Jaya Regional Police to file the report related to Information and Electronic Transactions Crimes under Law Number 1/2024 on the Second Amendment to Law Number 11/2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions as referred to in Article 51 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 35 and/or Article 263 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 264 of the Criminal Code. He stressed that the circulating news on social media is untrue. “Because it’s a hoax, considering that the ransacking of my house was also due to massively circulating hoax videos that were left unchecked. Many old videos from my TikTok were given captions as if they were my statements, even though I never said anything at that time,” Uya said when contacted by reporters on Sunday (19/4). Uya expressed confusion about the origin of the accusation that he owns 750 MBG kitchens. This PAN legislator affirmed that he does not own a single MBG kitchen. “And what confuses me is where that story came from about me owning MBG kitchens. Because to this day, I don’t own a single MBG kitchen except for my restaurant kitchen in Benhil called Asli Rasa,” he said. Uya admitted to being puzzled by the hoax videos featuring him from those accounts. He then alluded to the home ransacking in 2025 due to false news on social media. “What more do they want from me? My house and family were already sacrificed last time by using hoax videos from my old videos that were added with captions as if they were from me. And the house that was ransacked hasn’t even finished being renovated yet, now I’m being slandered again, why am I the one being slandered again,” he said.
