Accused by Netanyahu of Aiding Iran's Missile Production, China Strongly Denies!
The Chinese government has issued a strong denial against accusations levelled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Beijing providing support to Iran in missile production. Chinese authorities emphasised that such accusations are unfounded.
“We reject these baseless accusations,” stated spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, to journalists in Beijing, as reported by Anadolu Agency on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Guo delivered the denial while responding to questions about Netanyahu’s comments claiming that China “is providing support to Iran for certain specific parts in missile production”.
Guo stressed that China has always been committed to supporting peace efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East.
“We have explained China’s position on several occasions. As a responsible major country, China always fulfils its international obligations,” Guo asserted in his statement.
“We are committed to promoting de-escalation and peaceful negotiations to end the conflict,” he said.
Israel, along with the United States (US), launched attacks against Iran on 28 February. Tehran retaliated with waves of missile and drone strikes against targets in Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
According to data from Tehran authorities, more than 3,300 people have been killed and tens of thousands others forced to flee due to the series of US-Israeli attacks in Iranian territory since late February.
Meanwhile, at least 13 US soldiers were killed and dozens others injured due to Iran’s retaliatory attacks in Gulf countries.
The fighting has ceased since 8 April, following the announcement of a ceasefire between the US and Iran, mediated by Pakistan, by President Donald Trump. He subsequently unilaterally extended the ceasefire indefinitely without a specified timeframe.
The US had previously accused China of supporting Iran and imposed a series of sanctions on the country’s oil refineries and satellite imagery companies.
