PPM School of Management has again earned ABEST21 International accreditation for its Master of Management programme. The accreditation certificate was presented by ABEST21 President Professor Emeritus Fumio Itoh to Dr. Wendra, Chair of PPM School, during a granting ceremony at the Kyoto International Conference Center on Tuesday, 19 May. This marks the third time PPM School has earned ABEST21 accreditation, following 2016 and 2021. In remarks, Dr. Wendra said the achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to maintaining international standards in business education while upholding Indonesian values and contexts. He noted that maintaining accreditation demonstrates PPM School’s consistent quality across ABEST21 indicators, including governance and internal quality control, institutional mission, curriculum, students, faculty, and infrastructure. ABEST21 is a Japanese-based international accreditation body overseeing higher education institutions in several countries. Institutions already accredited by ABEST21 include Kyoto University Graduate School of Management, Waseda University Graduate School of Business and Finance, and other business schools across Asia, Russia, and the United States. During ABEST21 International Symposium titled ‘Nurturing Human Resources and Developing Competitive Education Programs in the Global South’, Dr. Wendra was invited as presenter and panelist in the session ‘Transforming Management Education in the Global South: Developing Transformative Talent’. In his presentation, he highlighted the challenges of developing management education in Global South countries that must be balanced with strengthening transformative leadership. He also outlined strategic initiatives pursued by PPM School, including internationalising the curriculum based on local wisdom, strengthening international collaboration, engaging faculty in global academic discourse, developing educational infrastructure, and integrating academia and industry. In a panel with representatives from Waseda University, IPB University, Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., and several Malaysian universities, Dr. Wendra emphasised that global standards and localised knowledge can run in parallel to produce relevant and competitive education. FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is an international accreditation body that provides assessment of quality standards in higher education.
