Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees, Grace Natalie, has spoken out regarding the report filed against her in the case of alleged editing of a video sermon by Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK). Grace emphasised that the video upload was made in her personal capacity.

This was conveyed by Grace during a press conference in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026). Grace was accompanied by PSI founders, including Isyana Bagoes Oka, Danik Eka Rahmaningtiyas, and Cheryl Tanzil.

“Today, I am accompanied by friends who happen to be off duty from their respective offices. There are also fellow PSI founders here, but today they are present as individuals, as friends,” Grace said.

On that occasion, Grace responded to the statement by PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali, who said that PSI would not provide her with legal assistance. According to her, that decision was at her own request.

“As a party founder, I instructed the Daily Chairman, in this case Bang Ahmad Ali, not to involve the party,” Grace said.

She also believes there was no violation in her video. Therefore, Grace assesses that there is no connection between the issue and PSI.

“I did upload my material on my personal social media as a citizen, and I am confident, optimistic that there is no legal violation there, so it has nothing to do with PSI, and the statement is perfectly normal,” she stated.

Grace claimed to be open to communicating with JK. She also said she is ready to take responsibility for the video.

“As a good citizen, I am ready to take responsibility, and I am optimistic that there is no legal violation there,” she said.

A coalition of 40 Islamic community organisations (ormas) is known to have reported Grace Natalie and two others to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. The report concerns the alleged editing of JK’s sermon at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Mosque some time ago.

“The police report we filed with the respondents Mr Ade Armando, Permadi Arya, and Grace Natalie has been received by the police, and we have obtained the police report receipt letter,” said the representative of LBH Hidayatullah, Syaefullah Hamid, to reporters at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, South Jakarta, on Monday (4/5).

The report is registered under number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated 4 May 2026.
