Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected the progress of the MRT Phase 2A North-South Line construction in the Harmoni area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. During the inspection, Gibran was accompanied by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, and MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat. “Today, I inspected the progress of the MRT Phase 2A North-South Line construction; this is a collaborative project between the central and regional governments,” Gibran said after the inspection. Vice President Gibran explained that the progress of the MRT Phase 2A North-South Line construction has reached 59%. The target is for the MRT route from Bundaran HI to Monas to be connected and operational by the end of 2027. “By the end of 2027, HI-Monas will be connected and operational. Then, by the end of 2029, it will connect to Kota Station,” he stated. On that occasion, Gibran also conveyed appreciation to the MRT Phase 2A North-South Line construction workers. He thanked the 3,800 construction workers who work from morning until night to complete the MRT construction. “In particular, to the construction team and the 3,800 or so construction workers here, thank you for working morning, afternoon, and night so that the construction progress here can be on schedule,” Gibran concluded. “Thank you also to the Governor and the Minister; this is collaborative work, so to realise safe, comfortable, integrated public transportation, it requires synergy between the centre and regions, including support from the agglomeration area,” he added.
