Accident Numbers During 2026 Eid Exodus Decrease, Legislator: Extraordinary
Jakarta, VIVA – Member of the House of Representatives Commission III Martin Tumbelaka has commended the performance of the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, and his team in securing the homecoming and return flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.
Martin assessed that the smooth security operations for this year’s homecoming were inseparable from the hard work of all police personnel in the field.
“I give my appreciation to the Head of Traffic Corps and his team. Their extraordinary collaborative efforts,” said Martin in his statement in Jakarta on Monday, 30 March 2026.
He highlighted that the rate of traffic accidents during the 2026 homecoming period experienced a decrease. This indicates that the security and public services were carried out effectively.
“This decrease in accident rates is a sign that their work is truly extraordinary. We give our appreciation. And hopefully in the future, it will get even better. Better handling in the field during major holidays,” Martin stated.
According to Martin, the homecoming security operations ran smoothly and demonstrated the hard work of the Traffic Corps team. He appreciated the steps and performance of the Head of Traffic Corps and his team in securing this year’s homecoming.
“While others enjoy the holiday, they are working. That’s what I see as extraordinary. I even visited them on the road. I got out, and whatever we can do to support them in the field, we do,” he said.
Martin admitted to having travelled to Bandung during the Eid homecoming and directly observed the readiness of the officers who were on duty day and night to ensure smooth public travel. He expressed thanks for the dedication of the National Police members who continued their duties during Eid.
“Their readiness and professionalism in carrying out duties. They are risking, meaning sacrificing time with family and relatives to ensure the public’s homecoming goes smoothly,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flow were under control. Based on data from the Traffic Corps, there were no prominent incidents during this year’s Eid homecoming period.
“Colleagues, the homecoming flow, return flow, and series of Eid al-Fitr activities were quite under control, from the aspect of security and public order, there were no prominent incidents,” said Inspector General Agus at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Centre in Bekasi, West Java, on Monday, 30 March 2026.
