Accident Chronology of DPR Member Gus Hilman: Drowsy Driver Collides with Lorry

The accident occurred on Saturday, 23 May at approximately 15:14 WIB. The incident involved a Toyota Innova and a dump truck. The vehicle carrying Gus Hilman was driven by Mahrus Ali and was accompanied by two staff members of Gus Hilman, Alex Anwaruh and Adinda Najwa.

“Regarding the chronology, the Innova was travelling from east to west. The driver possibly lacked concentration or was suspected to be drowsy, resulting in a collision with the dump truck ahead,” said Aipda Taufik, Head of Traffic Law Enforcement at Probolinggo City Police Station, as reported by detikJatim on Sunday, 24 May.

Taufik stated that the dump truck was in the left lane and travelling in the same direction as the Innova. However, the car suddenly struck the truck ahead.

“The dump truck was travelling in the left lane, so the Innova collided with the right side of the rear cargo bed of the dump truck,” he said.

As a result of the accident, two of Gus Hilman’s staff members died. Meanwhile, Gus Hilman and the driver survived and are receiving treatment at the hospital.
