Access to Bundaran HI and Dukuh Atas MRT Stations Temporarily Closed Due to Protest

MRT Jakarta has temporarily closed several entrances at Bundaran HI and Dukuh Atas stations due to the density of demonstrators in the Bundaran HI area of Central Jakarta.

“In connection with the increased crowd density around Dukuh Atas BNI Station and Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station, station access adjustments have been made,” said Franky Ertanto, Acting Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta, in a written statement on Friday (12/6/2026).

The following station entrances have been temporarily closed:

Stasiun Dukuh Atas BNI:

• Entrance C is closed.

• Entrance E is closed.

Stasiun Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta:

• Entrance A is closed.

Franky stated that MRT operations continue to run normally. MRT advises users to use access points from other stations.

“MRT Jakarta travel services continue to operate normally. Customers can use other available station entrances and exits and follow the directions of officers in the field,” he explained.

“MRT Jakarta continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure the security, safety, and comfort of customers,” he added.

It is known that masses from the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) are still being held back from reaching the Bundaran HI. They are currently voicing their aspirations around the Tosari bus stop.

detikcom monitoring on Friday (12/6/2026) observed the crowd being held before the Tosari bus stop. A number of joint security personnel were seen guarding the access road to Bundaran HI.

The crowd arrived carrying posters of demands and protest paraphernalia. They also chanted slogans related to the planned demonstration.

Meanwhile, traffic in the surrounding area appeared congested. The demonstrators occupied the Transjakarta bus lane, causing the buses to come to a halt as they were filled with people.
