Acceleration of Temporary Housing and Housing Allowance Distribution Become Key Strategy for PRR Task Force in Evacuee Relocation
The Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force (Satgas PRR) for Post-Disaster Sumatra is committed to continuously improving occupancy of temporary housing (huntara) for survivors of hydrological disasters in Sumatra.
In addition, the increase in huntara occupancy will be accompanied by the distribution of housing waiting allowances (DTH).
This measure aims to reduce evacuees still residing in tents as a result of floods and landslides in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) that occurred in late 2025.
Based on the daily report of Satgas PRR as of 10 March, the number of huntara completed in the three affected provinces has reached 14,725 units.
This figure has achieved 78 per cent of the huntara construction target, which is 18,697 units.
Construction progress has reached 76 per cent of the target to be built, totalling 16,847 units.
Meanwhile, 969 huntara units have been completed in North Sumatra, out of a total of 1,020 to be built, achieving 95 per cent progress.
From a total of 830 units to be built in West Sumatra, all huntara have been completed, or construction progress has reached 100 per cent.
Whilst increasing huntara occupancy, Satgas PRR is also gradually building permanent housing (huntap).
The government plans to construct 36,669 huntap units.
In addition to accelerating huntara construction to reduce evacuees in tents, Satgas PRR is also disbursing DTH assistance to disaster survivors who choose not to stay in huntara.
The DTH assistance amount being distributed is Rp 600,000 per month for a duration of three months. Consequently, each household head receives a total of Rp 1.8 million.
To date, all DTH recipient accounts have received fund transfers, with a disbursement rate of 100 per cent for 12,771 beneficiaries across the three provinces.
