Accelerating the Sekolah Rakyat Project in Cirebon: Brantas Abipraya's Strategies

Jakarta, VIVA – PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) reports that the progress of the Sekolah Rakyat construction project in Cirebon has reached 40.2 per cent as of early May 2026, with realisation against the S-curve at 12.8 per cent.

In its implementation, Brantas Abipraya’s Company Secretary, Dian Sovana, stated that the Sekolah Rakyat Cirebon construction project faces several challenges. One of them is the narrow condition of the access roads in the surrounding area, which limits the mobility of large vehicles and the distribution of project materials.

“That obstacle impacts the project traffic arrangement, as well as the effectiveness of construction material delivery,” said Dian in his statement on Friday, 8 May 2026.

Nevertheless, Dian emphasised that as an experienced state-owned construction company in national infrastructure development, Brantas Abipraya continues to optimise the project implementation to ensure it is completed on target and can soon be utilised by the community.

Therefore, various construction acceleration strategies are being applied to ensure the project progress remains optimal. Some acceleration steps taken include the use of wiremesh iron for plate structural reinforcement to improve work efficiency.

There is also an increase in batching plants to five units to support concreting needs, as well as the implementation of a three-shift work system so that work can proceed more maximally.

In addition, Dian continued, there is also a change in window specifications from the nako type to casement windows, to improve building quality while accelerating the installation process.

“Various acceleration strategies continue to be optimised so that the Sekolah Rakyat Cirebon construction can run effectively, even though it faces project access challenges in the field,” said Dian.

However, Dian also emphasised that the acceleration carried out by Brantas Abipraya does not sacrifice quality. This is an effort by the company to ensure the project can be completed faster while still meeting the best standards.

“Brantas Abipraya is committed to completing the Sekolah Rakyat Cirebon construction while prioritising quality, work safety, and timeliness. We understand the importance of accelerating the development of this educational facility for the community,” said Dian.

“Therefore, we are implementing various strategic steps from optimising construction methods, adding supporting work facilities, to applying a three-shift work system so that project progress remains maintained. We are optimistic that the Sekolah Rakyat Cirebon construction can be completed on time with the best quality,” he stated.
