Accelerating People's School Construction, Brantas Abipraya Deploys 2,500 Workers

PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the construction of Sekolah Rakyat (SR), one of the government’s priority national programmes.

Company Secretary Dian Sovana assured that this acceleration effort is not only focused on time but also prioritises quality and workplace safety.

“This commitment is realised through strengthened project management, enhanced technical oversight, and the implementation of discipline regarding Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards across all project sites,” said Dian in her statement on Monday, 27 April 2026.

On the ground, she said that the project acceleration is also supported by hundreds of workers who labour tirelessly.

At a single site, the number of workers can reach 400 to 600 people, operating in rotating day and night shifts to ensure national targets are met. She emphasised that this dedication forms the main foundation in maintaining optimal construction momentum.

“To accelerate the construction of Sekolah Rakyat, Brantas Abipraya has deployed 2,500 workers from Java to meet labour needs, speeding up the SR project not only in Java but also in Kalimantan and Sulawesi,” she stated.

Dian added that the sacrifices of the workers are also an important part of this process. Many of them have had to leave their families for extended periods, even missing precious moments with loved ones.

“However, this is undertaken with full responsibility, as a manifestation of commitment to the job and real contributions to nation-building,” said Dian.

The work culture built by Brantas Abipraya also emphasises values of togetherness and gotong royong. On site, there are no barriers between foremen, engineers, and project leaders.

In certain situations, the entire team directly assists with the work, ensuring progress continues while maintaining collective safety. This solidarity, she acknowledged, serves as a strength to expedite project completion amid various challenges.

“Commitment to workplace safety remains the company’s top priority. Every activity begins with a safety briefing, along with the disciplined use of personal protective equipment (PPE),” said Dian.
