Accelerating Huntap-Huntara Construction, PRR Task Force Committed to Providing Decent Living for Survivors
The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) following the Sumatra disaster continues to speed up the construction of permanent housing (huntap) and temporary housing (huntara) to provide decent accommodation for survivors of the hydrometeorological disaster in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar).
Data from the PRR Task Force as of 3 April records an increase in the number of completed huntap and huntara units in the three affected regions. Specifically, 230 huntap units have been completed out of a total planned 35,368 units, with 1,240 huntap units currently under construction. Aceh has recorded 104 completed huntap units out of 26,418 planned, with 395 units in the construction process.
Meanwhile, in Sumut, 120 huntap units have been completed out of 5,690 planned, with 404 under construction. In Sumbar, 6 huntap units have been completed out of 3,260 planned, with 441 units currently being built.
This achievement in accelerating huntap construction is being carried out in parallel with the construction of huntara for displaced persons to avoid them living in emergency tents. As of 3 April, the PRR Task Force data records that the number of completed huntara units in the three affected provinces has reached 17,084 units, or 89% of the target of 19,135 huntara units to be built.
Aceh is the region with the highest number of huntara constructions, consisting of 15,259 completed units out of 17,281 planned, or 88% progress. In Sumut, 995 units have been completed out of 1,024 planned, or 97% progress. In Sumbar, huntara construction has been fully completed at 830 units.
In addition to accelerating the construction of huntap and huntara for disaster survivors, the PRR Task Force is also disbursing Housing Waiting Funds (DTH) for disaster survivors who do not choose to live in huntara. The amount of DTH disbursed is Rp600,000 per month for 3 months, or a total of Rp1.8 million for each family head.
As of 3 April 2026, all DTH recipient accounts have received the fund transfers, with a disbursement rate of 100% for 14,021 recipients in the three provinces. The breakdown is 8,099 recipients in Aceh, 4,162 in Sumut, and 1,760 in Sumbar.
