Accelerating Data Reporting: INSW Now Enables Integration with Exporter-Importer Systems

The National Single Window (LNSW) has opened system integration services for export and import businesses since 1 September 2026, through the provision of access to the Indonesia National Single Window System Application Programming Interface (API SINSW).

This service is implemented in accordance with the Regulation of the Head of the National Single Window Agency Number Per-1/LNSW/2026 regarding the Procedures for Granting Access to Service Users Using the Indonesia National Single Window System via Application Programming Interface (Perka API).

LNSW Director of Information Technology, Wawan Ismawandi, stated that the implementation of the SINSW API can support a more standardised, effective, and efficient service integration process, which can be developed according to business process needs and the evolution of SINSW services.

“We all realise that speed and ease of transaction are highly needed today, as time efficiency will directly impact cost efficiency,” Wawan said via a press release on Thursday (3/9/2026).

The Head of the LNSW Information System Planning Sub-directorate, Fachry Rozy Oemar, explained that the development of API services in SINSW was driven by feedback from service users who have utilised SINSW services to date.

Service users with very high volumes of export and import transactions, particularly those managing thousands of commodities in a single transaction, have faced challenges in the document submission process through SINSW services. This issue arises because large transaction datasets are generally stored within the users’ respective in-house systems, requiring significant effort to submit such large volumes of data when applying through SINSW.

Furthermore, service users require access to the latest information regarding export and import trade regulations, which was previously only accessible through the Indonesia National Trade Repository (INTR) on the INSW portal.

With the implementation of the API, users’ systems will be able to integrate directly with SINSW via the API Catalogue platform, which is collaborated with the Single Sign On Next Generation mechanism.

The SINSW API Catalogue serves as the standard for integrating external systems with SINSW, ensuring that inter-system collaboration is faster, secure, and reliable, while also acting as a documentation repository for system integration available to all interested parties.

As is well known, an API is an integration mechanism that allows the utilisation of SINSW services directly from a user’s in-house system. Previously, service users could only access SINSW services through a web-based interface. With the enforcement of the Perka API, an additional access mechanism via API is now available for service users with in-house systems seeking direct integration with SINSW.

LNSW’s capability in implementing system integration via API has been proven since 2021 through integration with the systems of relevant ministries and agencies involved in export, import, and logistics in Indonesia, as well as systems from partner countries at the ASEAN regional level and bilateral partners such as South Korea, China, Japan, and Australia within the framework of Cross Border Paperless Trade Facilitation.

Currently, the API mechanism has been opened to service users with in-house systems that wish to be integrated with SINSW, as regulated by the Perka API.
