The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held an Academic Consultation from 20 to 22 May 2026 in Bogor. The event was attended by FEB Dean Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam and faculty leadership, including vice-deans, study programme chairs (Kaprodi), and secretaries (Sekprodi).

In his opening speech, Dean Prof. Ibnu Qizam stated that the consultation was a crucial step for the faculty in formulating an adaptive academic roadmap in response to global dynamics. The presence of all programme leadership was essential for aligning perspectives, evaluating curricula, and building a stronger institutional foundation.

To dissect strategic institutional quality development, FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta invited Prof. Tika Widiastuti, a leading higher education governance expert and practitioner currently serving as the First Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni at FEB Universitas Airlangga (Unair).

In her main session titled ‘Faculty Academic Development’, Prof. Widiastuti presented a comprehensive analysis on the urgency of transforming faculty governance to international standards. She emphasised the importance of a robust curriculum, strengthening impactful international research and publications, enhancing faculty capacity, and internationalisation through global partnerships and accreditations such as FIBAA or AACSB.

‘Academic development is not merely administrative routine, but a sustained commitment to creating a high-quality learning ecosystem. The faculty must focus on value creation, global recognition for academics, and ensuring curricula address real industry and societal needs,’ Prof. Widiastuti told consultation participants.

Over the three-day consultation, FEB UIN Jakarta leadership intensively drafted tactical instruments, mapped potential new study programmes, and developed institutional strengthening strategies based on accountable operational governance.

Through close synergy between faculty and programme leadership established during the event, FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is optimistic it can accelerate strategic program implementation, improve academic quality, and solidify its position as a leading and internationally reputable Islamic business faculty in Indonesia.
