AC Manufacturer Launches Integrated Office as Service Competition Intensifies
After-sales service competition for air conditioners is intensifying as consumer demand for quick, convenient, and accessible AC services grows. This has prompted electronics firms to compete not just on products but also on service quality.
This has driven Gree Indonesia to inaugurate a new integrated branch office in Cideng, Central Jakarta. The facility combines a product showroom, technician training centre, service centre, and customer service hub in one location.
The new branch is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen after-sales support amid rising demand for air conditioning, particularly in urban areas. Jakarta is considered a key operational hub to support market growth and expand services for customers and business partners.
Unlike conventional branches, Gree’s new facility is designed as an experiential space where consumers can directly engage with the company’s technology and products. Visitors can view a range of air conditioning units and other household electronics under the company’s management.
Gree Indonesia Vice President Nicky stated that a key focus of the new facility is enhancing technician and installer quality through the training centre. Gree believes installation quality and technician competence are crucial factors affecting the long-term performance and efficiency of AC units.
Nicky added that service quality is not solely determined by the product but also by the field technicians’ ability to install and maintain units.
‘Therefore, we have established a training centre to develop technician competencies, enabling them to keep pace with technological advancements and deliver superior installation standards to consumers,’ Nicky said.
The facility will offer regular technical training sessions covering unit installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and introduction to the latest HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) technologies.
Beyond technical strengthening, Gree has expanded customer service through its ‘24/7 Always On Service’ programme, providing round-the-clock customer care and technician support seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
The company also introduced a ‘48-Hour Cooling Guarantee’, ensuring service requests are resolved within 48 hours of commencement. Should repairs take longer, Gree provides temporary portable AC units to maintain customer comfort during the process.
