Abuse of guns

I feel satisfied, as well as worried, about a robbery victim
shooting the alleged robbers in front of a BCA automatic teller
machine booth a few days ago.

If the alleged robbers were guilty, they got their punishment.
I'm concerned, however, that it is very likely that many other
people will abuse the weapons they possess, either legally or
even illegally.

The data in Jakarta Police Headquarters showed that the victim
was an authorized gun owner who therefore could not be prosecuted
under Emergency Law No. 12/1951, which prohibits the carrying of
weapons.

Firing a bullet, even to paralyze a criminal, violates Article
338 of the Criminal Code on murder if it is done under overmacht
(forced) circumstances or if it cannot be proven at court.
Such a case must therefore be brought to court so that gun owners
will not freely use their guns.
