Abu Bakar Ba'asyir Hospitalised, Current Condition Reported

The leader of the Al-Mukmin Islamic Boarding School in Ngruki, Sukoharjo, Abu Bakar Ba’asyir (ABB), is currently undergoing hospital treatment after suffering from exhaustion.

“It may be due to fatigue, as he recently attended a condolence visit for the late Ustaz M. Thalib in Yogyakarta,” said Endro Sudarments, the Public Relations staff of the Al-Mukmin Islamic Boarding School, relaying a message from ABB’s son, Abdul Rochim Ba’asyir (Iim), on Thursday (1/10/2026).

Endro stated that, according to information from the family, ABB has been receiving care at Kustati Hospital in Solo since Wednesday (30/9) morning. ABB was taken directly to the Emergency Department to receive medical attention.

Nevertheless, Ustaz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir’s condition is steadily improving. According to information received from Iim, ABB is now able to communicate.

As of this morning, ABB’s health is continuing to improve, but he still requires significant rest. The family has not yet permitted visitors.

“Update on Ustaz Abu’s condition: Alhamdulillah, his health is getting better, but he has been advised to rest extensively. Therefore, visits are not permitted today,” Endro said, relaying the message from Iim.
