Absent officials to be docked

TANGERANG: The Tangerang municipal administration announced on Saturday that it would cut three percent from the salaries of all employees who failed to show up for work on Monday after the long Idul Fitri holidays.

Municipal Secretary Harry Mulya Zain said that his office would also announce publicly the names of all employees who failed to show up for work.

"We will hold a morning gathering when all staff members and employees resume work on Monday and we will inspect every department after the gathering as well as check the attendance lists."

Harry said that it had long been a habit for some staff members and employees to fail to show up at the office on the first day back at work after the holidays.

All administration staff members and employees have been on holiday since Nov. 12. -- JP
