ABRI's new leadership

We all know the government is working hard to overcome the current crisis. One consequence that this brings, however, is a heightened degree of vulnerability to security disturbances. With this background factor in mind, it may be said that the new leadership of the Armed Forces (ABRI) is shouldering a particularly heavy burden, considering that both the upcoming session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the monetary crisis have the political content that could be easily exploited to trigger acts of violence and social upheaval.

It is therefore reasonable for people to hope that ABRI's new leadership will continue to take the right measures to ensure the upcoming MPR session will proceed smoothly, and that the ongoing monetary crisis can be overcome in as little time as possible. Whether such hopes can be realized will depend a good deal on the public's support. We therefore call on everyone who would like to see those challenges surmounted speedily to work side by side with ABRI.
