ABRI vehicles netted in operation

JAKARTA (JP): Four cars and two motorcycles bearing Armed Forces (ABRI) number plates have been caught in a City Military Police law and order operation.

Jakarta Military Command Spokesman Lt. Col. DJ. Nachrowi said the vehicles were netted Thursday for violating traffic regulations and not being equipped with the necessary documents.

Nachrowi said 20 military police officers were deployed during the three-hour operation, which was aimed at improving the discipline of Armed Forces members and its civilian employees.

"The operation is part of the National Discipline Movement. We hope we can help reduce violations committed by our members," he said. (jun)
