ABRI announces more reshuffles
JAKARTA (JP): The Armed Forces (ABRI) announced yesterday
another round of reshuffles in its mid-level command structure,
this time affecting 99 officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force
and National Police.
The biggest change was the promotion of Maj. Gen. Syarwan
Hamid to ABRI Chief of Socio-Political Affairs, replacing Lt.
Gen. Moch. Ma'ruf. Syarwan was previously Ma'ruf's deputy.
Another major appointment was that of Brig. Gen. Suwarno
Adiwijoyo, previously ABRI chief spokesman, as Syarwan's deputy.
In the Army, the major changes affected the second in command
positions of various divisions. They include:
* Brig. Gen. Fachrul Razi as chief of staff of the Wirabuana
Regional Military Command.
* Brig. Gen. Agus Widjaja as chief of staff of the Sriwijaya
Regional Military Command.
* Col. Muchdi PR as chief of staff of the Brawijaya Regional
Military Command.
* Brig. Gen. Jhony L. Lumintang as chief of staff of the
Trikora Regional Military Command.
* Col. Syafrie Syamsudin as the chief of staff of the Jakarta
Garrison.
* Brig. Gen. Nurdin as chief of staff of the Army's Strategic
Reserve Command.
* Brig. Gen. Amir Syarifuddin as ABRI's chief spokesman.
* Col. Robik Mukav as the Army's chief spokesman.
In the Air Force, the new appointments include:
* Rear Marshal Mahpudin Taka as the Air Force's Inspector
General.
* Commodore Purnomo Sidi as chief of the First Air Force
Operational Command.
* Rear Marshal I Gede Sudhana as Deputy for Operation to Chief
of Staff.
* Col. Budi Santoso as Chief of the Air Force's Special Force
Central Command.
Within the National Police, the new appointments include:
* Brig. Gen. Soemarsono as chief of East Java Police.
* Maj. Gen. Nana Permana as chief of West Java Police.
* Brig. Gen. M. Nurdin as chief of North Sumatra Police.
* Maj. Gen. Benyamin LS Mamuaya as chief of Nusa Tenggara
Police.
* Brig. Gen. Agus Saleh as chief of East Kalimantan Police.
* Brig. Gen. Ahwil Lutan as secretary of the Indonesian
National Central Bureau/Interpol.
* Maj. Gen. Hartoyo as Governor of the Police Science
Institute.
* Brig. Gen. Suwito as Director of Traffic at the National
