Abpednas Details Steps to Implement Food Security Programme Amidst Climate Change Impacts
The Deputy Chairman of the National Association of Village Consultative Bodies (Abpednas), Irfan Aghasar, attended a policy socialisation event on local food security and village community empowerment in the face of climate change impacts. The event was organised by the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions in cooperation with the World Bank at the Swiss-Belinn Modern Cikande in Serang, Banten. Irfan attended as a guest representing the Abpednas Central Executive Board. He stated that what the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions was socialising had already been implemented by Abpednas. “What the Ministry of Villages is socialising and discussing today, we at Abpednas have already been working on independently for some time, for example biofloc, a laying hen programme, and the distribution of clean wells using a QR Code control system through the Jaga Pangan programme,” Irfan said on Tuesday, 30 June 2026. He further stated that the Abpednas Central Executive Board appreciates the efforts of the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions in grasping the fundamental problems in facing the challenges of climate change. “Of course, we from the Abpednas Central Executive Board appreciate what the Ministry of Villages is doing, being able to anticipate and prepare for future climate change problems, and we hope Abpednas can collaborate with the Ministry of Villages going forward,” he said. The event was attended by the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Arif Satria, a World Bank representative, Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria, Deputy Governor of Banten Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah, Banten Regent Hj. Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, and village associations and village heads throughout Serang Regency, Banten Province.
