Abolishment of information ministry
Abolishment of information ministry
From Bisnis Indonesia
I sympathize with the employees of the Ministry of Information, which was abolished by the government, and hope that the government can solve the problem wisely.
However, I was very surprised to read some data from the National Agency for the Civil Service Administration (BAKN) showing that the information ministry had no less than 52,000 employees, which far exceeded the Ministry of Public Works with 39,000, Ministry of Social Affairs 22,000, Ministry of Cooperatives 16,200 and Ministry of Transmigration 17,300.
I wonder why the information ministry had such a large personnel. What were they for? Who in the leadership of that ministry drew up the policy to recruit such a great number of employees? According to my logic, the Ministry of Public Works should employ more people than the information ministry, because the former has had a lot more projects to be done throughout the country.
Given the above data, one can imagine that the inefficiency in the Ministry of Information is very high, and hence the abolishment of the ministry is a must.
Furthermore, one of the former information ministers, who served the longest period in office, must be held responsible for the recruitment of such a large number of employees and should explain about the rationale of the policy.
