Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, is targeting the timely completion of a project to renovate five buildings at State Senior High School (SMAN) 2 Praya, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The revitalisation of the buildings is funded with Rp 1.6 billion from the 2026 State Budget (APBN).

Mu’ti explained that the school building renovations are scheduled to be completed within six months, or 180 working days. The work employs a self-management scheme based on the education unit, with aid funds transferred directly to the beneficiary school’s account.

‘I have observed the progress of the SMAN 2 Praya revitalisation, which received assistance of Rp 1.6 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of new classrooms along with supporting facilities. There is a school health unit (UKS), student council (OSIS) room, and counselling guidance (BK) room. It is planned to be completed within six months,’ said Mu’ti during an inspection of the revitalisation process at SMAN 2 Praya on Thursday (16/7/2026).

Through this work system, Mu’ti stated, the headmaster and the local team have full authority to plan, implement, and evaluate the construction transparently, from classroom and toilet repairs to the procurement of other facilities. He claimed that with this system, there is no longer any room for manipulation.

‘I also received information earlier that the fund transfer has already reached 75 per cent, so there are no financial obstacles,’ Mu’ti said.

Mu’ti revealed that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is revitalising a total of 71,744 schools in 2026. According to him, this school revitalisation demonstrates the central government’s commitment to providing a sense of comfort and safety to students across Indonesia.

‘This shows our commitment from the government under the direction of President Prabowo to make these facilities safe and comfortable. Hopefully, this can be completed on time,’ Mu’ti stressed.
