Abdul Muis-Cimahi minibus route

Abdul Muis-Cimahi minibus route

From Pikiran Rakyat

The Abdul Muis-Cimahi minibus route in the periphery of
Bandung in West Java is a favorite place for robbers to operate,
especially at night.

On March 14 after 11 p.m. my mother, mother-in-law, sister and
wife were held up by five robbers on a minibus plying that route.
"Hands up, don't move!". Under threat of knives, my family had to
surrender their jewelry, watches, a bag with a camera and some
money, and even their umbrellas. The articles were worth Rp 2.5
million.

Having been to a party at a hotel on the southern ring road,
my family was dropped off on Jl. Kopo by a hotel bus and they
boarded the fateful minibus to go home.

When the driver, apparently in league with the robbers,
dropped off my relatives on a lonely stretch, the robbers tried
to grab my sister. Luckily my mother fought them off.

A young man, who happened to be in the vicinity, led my family
to a security post. One of the security men drove his car in
search of the minibus (registration number D 1971..) but couldn't
find it. We thank Mr. Herwanto and Mr. Wahyudin, the security
men, and the others for their quick action and for help in filing
a report with the Babakan Ciparay district police.
