ABB says human resource development is a key investment in automation technology
Jakarta (ANTARA) - International technology company ABB has stated that improving the competence of Indonesia’s human resources is a key investment in the development of automation technology for industry and the green energy transition.
“Regarding automation, the investments made by ABB include investments in human resources. This is of course with the hope of improving the quality of services provided to industry players,” said Vice President of ABB’s Energy Industries Division for Southeast Asia, Abhinav Harikumar, in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/2) evening.
Furthermore, Harikumar said that the development of human resource competence is also inseparable from the collaboration of all stakeholders, including industry players in the field of automation technology and energy transition in Indonesia.
“We are very open to collaboration with industry players. Because ultimately, if we talk about automation or energy transition, we cannot work alone. This must be done by all industry players,” he said.
Harikumar also said that the form of investment is now becoming more diverse, not only through the establishment of factories or company facilities.
“Investment, of course, has various forms. For example, the establishment of factories and others. For ABB itself, we happen to have a joint venture. We also involve factories that currently produce various equipment, but it is not focused on automation,” he explained.
In addition, companies also need to pay attention to the protection of data security from the development of automation technology, which is now one of the fundamental components of a project.
“This also (involves) improving security protection, and modernising infrastructure will also help manage investment risks,” he said.
He again emphasised the importance of cross-industry and stakeholder collaboration, especially in investment efforts and business risk mitigation strategies.
“Of course, this mitigation strategy cannot be carried out by one party alone. In this case, for example, ABB can provide global technology for local markets such as Indonesia. And at the same time, ABB will also establish cooperation with academics, the government, and so on,” said Harikumar.
