Abang None Finalists View Public Transport as Strengthening Jakarta's Image

Finalists of the Abang None Jakarta Utara pageant believe the presence of integrated public transport, such as the MRT Jakarta, is one of the factors strengthening Jakarta’s image as a global city while facilitating public mobility. Muhammad Farhan Pratama Susilo, a finalist for Abang None Jakarta Utara, stated that easy intermodal access is an indicator of Jakarta’s readiness to become a global city, a vision being developed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. “The MRT proves that Jakarta is ready to become a global city because its transport and accessibility are very easy to reach. We can take the Transjakarta, LRT, KRL, and MRT, so transport can be enjoyed by all groups,” Farhan said after participating in the Station Attendant for a Day programme at an MRT station on Friday. Farhan noted that the integrated transport system facilitates public activities while also serving as an attraction for tourists visiting Jakarta. Similarly, finalist Azzahra Nureyna Cintani said public transport accessibility is a crucial aspect in supporting Jakarta as a global city. “Public transport, especially the MRT, is one indicator of Jakarta as a global city. The integration of the MRT with other transport services is a tangible manifestation of the government’s current development efforts,” Cinta said. She assessed that ease of mobility through public transport can provide a better experience for both residents and tourists visiting the capital. Cinta added that the experience of participating in the MRT Jakarta programme also provided an understanding of the importance of public transport in supporting Jakarta’s image as a modern city. According to her, as Abang None, the finalists have a role in introducing Jakarta’s various advantages, including its continuously developing public transport system. “We are the face of Jakarta and certainly support government programmes and existing development. We start with ourselves to encourage the public to use public transport,” she said.
