Abang None Finalists View Public Transport as Strengthening Jakarta's Image

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The finalists of Abang None North Jakarta believe that the existence of integrated public transport, such as the Jakarta MRT, is a key factor in strengthening Jakarta’s image as a global city while facilitating public mobility.

Abang None North Jakarta finalist Muhammad Farhan Pratama Susilo stated that ease of intermodal access serves as an indicator of Jakarta’s readiness to become a global city, a goal currently being pursued by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

“The MRT proves that Jakarta is ready to become a global city because its transport and accessibility are very easy to reach. We can use Transjakarta, LRT, KRL, and the MRT, ensuring that transportation is accessible to all segments of society,” said Farhan after participating in the ‘Station Attendant for a Day’ programme at a Jakarta MRT station on Friday.

Farhan noted that an integrated transport system simplifies daily activities for residents and serves as a major attraction for tourists visiting Jakarta.

Similarly, Abang None North Jakarta finalist Azzahra Nureyna Cintani stated that public transport accessibility is a vital aspect of supporting Jakarta’s transition into a global city.

“Public transport, particularly the MRT, is one of the indicators of Jakarta as a global city. The integration of the MRT with other transport services is a tangible manifestation of the development currently being undertaken by the government,” said Cinta.

She assessed that ease of mobility through public transport can provide a better experience for both residents and tourists visiting the capital.

Cinta added that the experience of undergoing training at the Jakarta MRT provided an understanding of the importance of public transport in supporting Jakarta’s identity as a modern city.

According to her, as Abang None representatives, the finalists have a role in introducing Jakarta’s various advantages, including its evolving public transport system.

“We serve as the face of Jakarta and certainly support government programmes and ongoing development. We are starting with ourselves by encouraging the public to utilise public transport,” she said.
