Abandoned Pickup Found on Bogor Roadside Turns Out to Be Stolen

A pickup truck was found abandoned on a roadside in Tamansari Village, Rumpin District, Bogor, West Java. The vehicle was discovered without an owner. “The Rumpin Police Criminal Investigation Unit has found and secured one pickup truck,” said Rumpin Police Chief AKP Suyoko on Friday (17/7/2026). The vehicle was first spotted in the morning around 06:00 WIB. Initially, a local resident noticed the parked vehicle. “The Rumpin Police duty officer then went directly to the location and confirmed the discovery of a pickup truck parked on the road with a flat front tyre,” he explained. Police then inspected the inside of the vehicle and found the ignition switch had been damaged. “In this case, the vehicle is suspected to be stolen and abandoned by the perpetrator,” he stated. Police subsequently took the vehicle to the Rumpin Police Station. Officers then contacted the vehicle owner to verify the situation. “It turned out the pickup truck had indeed gone missing from in front of a shop on Jalan Ciater Raya, Serpong District, South Tangerang, at around 04:20 WIB,” he said. The pickup truck was then handed over to its owner upon presentation of proof of ownership, including the vehicle registration certificate and the vehicle ownership book.
