AAPA to move headquarters
MANILA (AFP): The Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines (AAPA) will move its regional headquarters from here to Kuala Lumpur by April, its director general said on Thursday.
"Yes that's true," AAPA director general Richard Stirland told AFP by telephone when asked to confirm reports of the relocation.
The move to Malaysia has been planned since 1999 and is aimed at easing the travel and communications of secretariat members and delegates, who do a lot of business in Malaysia's neighbor Singapore, Stirland said.
Earlier Thursday, the chairman of the Senate foreign relations and labor committee expressed alarm over AAPA's impending move.
