AAJI Officially Appoints Albertus Wiroyo as Chairman of Board of Management

Jakarta - The Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) has officially appointed Albertus Wiroyo Karsono as Chairman of the Board of Management for the period until 2028, succeeding Budi Tampubolon.

This appointment was decided at the Extraordinary General Meeting (RALUB) of 2026, conducted in accordance with AAJI’s Articles of Association and Internal Regulations, with 59 member companies in attendance, thus meeting quorum requirements.

In his remarks, Albertus emphasised that AAJI’s future leadership will focus on strengthening corporate governance, organisational consolidation, and enhancing public trust in the life insurance industry. He committed to accelerating the formation of the Board of Management structure to enable the organisation to work effectively and cohesively.

Albertus outlined three primary focus areas for the forthcoming board. First, the strengthening of sales conduct to ensure life insurance marketing practices operate ethically and responsibly. Second, implementation of the industry roadmap established jointly with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and industry associations, directed at expanding insurance inclusion through collaboration with member companies to extend insurance protection to broader and more diverse population segments. Third, strengthening transparency in organisational governance and industry communication to the public.

The 2026 RALUB also appointed Windawati Tjahjadi as member of AAJI’s Board of Supervisors for the remainder of the term until 2028, replacing Randy Lianggara. The Board of Supervisors for the 2025-2028 period now comprises Firdaus Djaelani, Ricardo Simanjuntak, and Windawati Tjahjadi.

Albertus Wiroyo Karsono is an experienced practitioner in the life insurance and general insurance sectors with over 23 years of industry experience. Since January 2017, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of PT Bhinneka Life Indonesia.

His career has encompassed various senior positions at multiple life and general insurance companies, including Regional Director of Agency at PT Sinar Lend Lease Life (1995-1997), General Manager of Bancassurance (1998-2000), Director of Wealth Management and Alternate Distribution at PT MLC Life Indonesia (2000-2006), Director of Professional Finance Services at PT AXA Life Indonesia (2006-2007), President Director of PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services (2007-2012), and President of PT Mandiri AXA General Insurance (2013-2016). He also served as Commissioner of PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services from 2013 to March 2015.
