A Week Before Eid, Only 7.2 Million Taxpayers File Annual Tax Returns
Jakarta — The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has recorded 7,205,109 annual income tax returns filed by taxpayers as of 10 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB for the 2025 tax year.
Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Education, Service, and Public Relations at the DJP, stated that the majority of returns came from salaried individual taxpayers, totalling 6,400,602 returns.
Self-employed individual taxpayers submitted 649,033 returns during the same period.
Additionally, corporate taxpayers with different fiscal years, which began reporting from 1 August 2025, filed 1,251 returns in Indonesian rupiah and 21 returns in US dollars.
Overall, the data reveals that individual taxpayers, particularly salaried employees, dominate tax return filings.
Separately, the DJP reported that 15,883,598 taxpayers have activated accounts on the Coretax digital tax administration system. A further 226 taxpayers from the Electronic Trading System Commerce (PMSE) category have also activated Coretax accounts.
Rismawanti noted that Coretax account activation represents an important stage in supporting increasingly digitalised tax administration processes.
