A unique way to introduce kimpul as a local food diversification method

A content creator from Bantul, D.I. Yogyakarta, is introducing the local food source, the kimpul tuber, by processing it into contemporary foods. This method has captured the attention of the younger generation online, with some even referring to the creator as an ambassador for food security.

A food technology expert from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UGM Yogyakarta stated that kimpul is a source of carbohydrates that is rich in fibre and safe for consumption by diabetics. Furthermore, kimpul holds significant potential to be developed as a crop for food diversification.
