Angklung River Camp has become a favourite spot for people looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The campsite, located in Akah village, Klungkung, Bali, offers a peaceful overnight stay beside the flow of the Tukad Unda river.

The campsite began operating in 2024. Although relatively new, it has quickly drawn the attention of outdoor enthusiasts, with its grassy open ground surrounded by dense trees.

“Initially, the garden was full of banana trees. Then we rented it to manage. These days it is always busy once the weekend arrives,” said Angklung River Camp manager I Nengah Mudiana, when speaking to detikBali on Sunday (11 October 2026).

Its lush surroundings have helped keep the site busy, particularly during weekends and holidays. It is often chosen for group gatherings, family camping and campervan trips. Several Indonesian public figures and content creators have also visited to experience camping amid the natural scenery of Klungkung.

Visitors can bring their own tents or hire one at the site. Those bringing their own pay a camping fee of Rp35,000 per person at weekends. The weekday rate is lower, at Rp25,000 per person.

For visitors who wish to hire a tent, the site offers tents with capacity for four people. Hire costs around Rp250,000 to Rp300,000, including mats and lighting.

Angklung River Camp also has a range of facilities, including electrical sockets in the camping area, clean toilets and bathrooms with seated toilets, and ample vehicle parking.

“We do prioritise the facilities, especially the toilets and bathrooms, which have showers,” Mudiana said.

Visitors can also enjoy outdoor activities such as lighting a campfire, roasting corn or having a barbecue, relaxing and playing in the water by the river, or holding a yoga session in the morning.

Angklung River Camp is about 35 kilometres from Denpasar and takes roughly 60 minutes to reach by motorbike or car. The route to Akah village from central Semarapura is also relatively short and in good condition, making it an ideal option for a weekend getaway.
