A Time Will Come When Roads, Mosques, and Even Places of Sin Will Testify About Our Deeds

One day in the future, there will be an event we often read about in the Quran but rarely truly contemplate. On that day, the earth we have trodden upon will speak. The roads we travel every day will bear witness. The houses we live in will reveal their secrets. The mosques we visit will recount our deeds. Even places that once witnessed sin and vice will not remain silent. This is one of the tremendous scenes of the Day of Judgement, a day when humanity stands alone before Allah SWT. No wealth, position, status, family, or influence will be able to help. All that will remain is the record of deeds and an irrefutable testimony. Allah the Almighty says: ‘On that Day, it will report its news’ (QS Az-Zalzalah: 4). When reciting this verse, the Prophet Muhammad SAW once asked his companions: ‘Do you know what is meant by the earth’s news?’ The companions replied: ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He then explained: ‘Indeed, the earth’s news is its testimony against every servant, male or female, regarding what they did upon its surface. The earth will say: On this day, he did this and that. That is the news it conveys.’ (HR Tirmidhi)
