A man with the initials S (48) was found dead in a house located in Dusun Klawisan Topadan, Kalurahan Margoagung, Seyegan, Sleman Regency. Police stated that the man, who had a cut wound on his neck, allegedly died by suicide.

Found by his Mother

Based on information, S was found dead by his mother on Friday (15/5) at around 06.45 WIB. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital.

“The victim was found dead with a cut wound on his neck and a knife next to his body. The victim was then taken to RS Bhayangkara,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Sleman Police, Iptu Argo Anggoro, on Friday (15/5/2026).

Alleged Suicide

The police conducted an investigation and suspect that the victim died by suicide using a knife.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim is suspected of dying from suicide due to the illness he was suffering from,” said Argo.

He explained that the preliminary investigation found no fingerprints on the knife at the scene. A note was found, allegedly written by the victim. Due to this incident, the victim’s family did not want an autopsy.

Illness Suffered

The police also examined witnesses, including a witness with the initials U who met the victim the day before. The victim told U that he could not sleep because of acid reflux.

“On Thursday night, May 14, 2026, at around 21.00 WIB, witness U met the victim who said he could not sleep because of acid reflux,” he said.

The family also explained that the victim had complained about his acid reflux. Therefore, in this incident, the family refused an autopsy.

“The family stated that the victim had previously said goodbye because he could not bear the pain of acid reflux and the family refused to have an autopsy,” he said.

The Victim Was Recently Appointed as a PPPK Employee

The Head of Margoagung, Djarwo Suharto, when confirmed, said that the victim was actually a resident of Gunungkidul. However, because he was recently appointed as a PPPK employee of Sleman Regency, the victim returned to live in his hometown.

“He was recently appointed as a PPPK at the Department of Public Works. Automatically, they have to work in the Sleman Regency Government. So the deceased returned to his hometown because his mother is still here,” said Djarwo.
