A resident’s house in Caringin, Bogor collapses after strong winds

Strong winds hit the area of Desa Cinaraga, Caringin District, Bogor, West Java. As a result, a resident’s house collapsed after being struck by the wind. “Because of heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and the construction of the building which is fragile, the house sustained damage,” said M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics Division at the Bogor Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The incident occurred at around 14:38 local time this afternoon. As a result, the house collapsed at the kitchen roof area. “The affected victims, according to initial rapid assessment, are: 1 unit of house with moderate damage; damage to the roof and kitchen collapsed,” he said. He said there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident. The agency had also carried out initial disaster response measures. “The final state of the damage has not yet been repaired by the owner; the house is still inhabited by its owner.
