U.S. army says it
killed 20 in Iraq
A strike by U.S. forces that destroyed a house in the Iraqi city
of Falluja overnight killed around 20 foreign fighters, a senior
military official told reporters on Wednesday. The U.S. military
says the strike targeted a safe house used by militants loyal to
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who is accused of links to al-Qaeda and
blamed for a series of bloody suicide bomb attacks and for the
killing of at least two foreign hostages. Iraqis said on Tuesday
evening that the attack had killed four Falluja residents. It was
the second U.S. strike in four days on a suspected Zarqawi
safehouse. -- Reuters
