A pure question of justice
A pure question of justice
It appears to be easy to legally process allegations of former
president Soeharto's involvement in cases of corruption,
collusion and nepotism. The former president failed to respond to
a summons from the Attorney General's Office for reasons of ill
health. This is indeed not an easy process. It could be possible
that psychological barriers are making it difficult for officers
of the Attorney General's Office to question the country's ex-
number one authority.
It should be remembered, though, that a legal process is not
aimed at finding fault "at any cost". Neither is it a question of
compassion or respect. At issue in this case is justice and this
is the challenge that our law enforcers must answer --
particularly those at the Attorney General's Office.
