Mataram (ANTARA) – A prospective Hajj pilgrim from cluster 11 of the Lombok Embarkation, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has died in the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia. NTB Hajj and Umrah Office head Lalu Muhamad Amin confirmed that one person from Cluster 11 named Muhammad Dowasi, from Lunyuk District, Sumbawa Regency, died in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (19 May).

“From 393 people, two were transferred to Cluster 11; one person died, one person is being treated at King Faisal Hospital and two are in hospital rooms,” he said in Mataram on Wednesday.

He said according to the reports of cluster leaders from Kloter 1 to Kloter 15 Embarkasi Lombok, a number of pilgrims have fallen ill and require treatment at King Faisal Hospital in Mecca.

“Even one person from Kloter 1 had to be referred to King Faisal Hospital for an implantation of a ring operation,” he added.

Although generally the health of the pilgrims is good, as a precaution amid the hot weather conditions in the Holy Land, pilgrims are being educated on clean and healthy living behaviours (PHBS), including washing hands with soap, wearing masks, getting adequate rest and drinking plenty of water.

“The total number of prospective Embarkasi Lombok entrants reaches 5,864, consisting of 5,804 pilgrims and 60 officials,” he said.
